Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a five thousand year old approach to healing in Traditional Chinese Medicine, with literally hundreds of different styles. In this class we will focus on two different movement forms and will emphasize working with the mind along with the gentle flowing movements of the body to create a deeply relaxed and calm state. This in itself is a healing experience. We will learn about Qi and how it works in the body, and students will have a very direct experience of feeling and working with qi, or the life force, that animates everything in the universe.
The instructor, Bill McMillan, is a retired psychotherapist and has been teaching Yuan Gong Qigong for the past twelve years to all kinds of students. From Cancer survivors to high school students, veterans and just regular people, this method of qigong is easily accessible and can be beneficial for almost anyone.
