Whether you like to draw, paint, sculpt, weave, sew, cartoon or fuse glass, the list of art classes you can take is endless. We offer a robust calendar of exhibitions, programs, receptions, and art-making opportunities each month.
Art Programs for Youth
When your child is ready to take their Crayola drawings or clay models to the next level we are here for you. Our youth arts program offers classes for pre-school, elementary, and pre-teen students. Below is a sample of the many classes we have hosted.

Youth Performing Arts
Alex Thomas Puppet Show (July 2022)
The Alex Thomas Interactive Puppet Shows allows volunteers and audience members to play along and become a part of the act. Their zany Muppet-style puppets bring the imaginations of young and old to life. (All Ages).
Alex Thomas TV Puppetry Workshop (July 2022)
Participants learned how to puppeteer and use a monitor in the style of puppetry developed by Jim Henson for performance on film and television productions. Participants also had the chance to test their skills at puppet eye focus, lip sync, and movement! (Ages eight and up).

Classes are led by lifelong artist Cheryl Gordon
Cheryl has a lifelong passion for creating art. With that passion, she began teaching art classes over 40 years ago. She has taught at the Midland Center for the Arts and Northwestern Michigan – College for Kids. As a mixed media artist, she loves to explore sculpture, weaving, sewing, and oil and acrylic painting. A year ago, she and her husband Dan moved to Cedarville to build their retirement home. She is excited to get involved in the community and share her knowledge and love of art.
