WEAVING: Cup Rugs (Coasters)

Join us at Hessel Schoolhouse for a fun, hands-on weaving workshop with instructor Cheryl Gordon! Learn the basics of weaving as you create your own colorful cup rugs (coasters) using a small frame loom.
Cheryl will guide you step by step through the process of setting up and warping your loom. You’ll then learn the basic tabby weaving stitch and use yarn or fabric strips to weave approximately 4″ x 5″ cup rugs. Once your projects are complete, Cheryl will show you how to remove them from the loom and finish them properly.
There’s time to create at least two cup rugs—and hopefully even more! These handmade creations are perfect for your home or make thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gifts.
