By bringing this display to the Hessel School House\, we hope to create opportunities for discussion about the effects and legacy of these schools—conversations that can help us listen to one another\, build understanding\, and create bridges within our communities. \nOrange Shirt Day — September 30\nWe also encourage everyone to participate in Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters on September 30. \nSeptember 30 was chosen because it falls at the time of year when Indigenous children were historically taken from their homes and families and sent to residential schools.
