SUMMARY:Rag Rug Weaving (2 session class)
DESCRIPTION:Rag rug making is a centuries old craft with unlimited opportunities for experimentation and self-expression. The tactile quality of simple loom weaving is particularly aesthetic and creative. In this class\, Cheryl Gordon you will provide each student with a loom\, teach them how to prepare a variety of “rag” scrap fabrics for a custom weaving experience\, and teach them how to weave a beautiful and functional rug approximately 30″ x 45″ in size. The objective of this course is to provide students with the necessary skills and materials to confidently leave the classroom and create future rugs using this technique. \nThis class is two sessions : April 15 and April 22 from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM \nClass Fee: $75 (include loom\, materials\, and 2 days of instruction) \nREGISTER ONLINE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/547972629887

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an Earth Day Celebration! \nInspired by the wisdom of Dr. Seuss’ Lorax! “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot\, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”  \nDuring this family friendly exploration of nature\, we will learn different ways to help protect earth by implementing the Three R’s: reduce\, reuse\, and recycle\, and by being good stewards of our natural resources. A fun art project using recycled materials will reinforce the concept of reusing objects we usually throw in the trash to create art.  \nSpace is limited. Register early to avoid disappointment. \nFunding for this program provided by The Americana Foundation.
